Cute Critter Cookies

Bring these adorable cookies to life with butterflies, ladybirds, and now – playful little kitty cats! They’re quick, fun, and perfect for baking with the kids.

Ingredients

• 12 digestive biscuits

• 1 cup (160g) icing sugar mixture

• 50g pkt Nestlé Smarties

• Chocolate writing icing (for kitty whiskers)

• Red liquid food colouring

• Coles Bake & Create Eyeball Decorations

• Brown Mars M&M’s Minis

• Mini marshmallows (for kitty ears)

• Pink jelly beans or Smarties (for kitty noses)

Method

Step 1. Arrange the digestive biscuits on a serving plate.

Step 2. Place the icing sugar in a bowl and mix with enough cold water to form a smooth paste.

Step 3. For butterflies and caterpillars: spread two-thirds of the icing over 6 biscuits. Decorate with Smarties and writing icing. Set aside to firm.

Step 4. For ladybirds: tint a portion of icing with red food colouring. Spread over 3 biscuits, then decorate with candy eyes, writing icing, and M&M’s. Set aside to set.

Step 5. For kitty cats: spread the remaining icing over 3 biscuits. Add mini marshmallow halves as ears, pink Smarties or jelly beans as noses, candy eyes, and use chocolate writing icing to draw whiskers. Leave to set.
