These chocolate-dipped bananas are an easy, paw-sitively delicious treat for any occasion—desserts, snacks, or fun activities with the kids! Add a playful cat twist with whiskers, ears, and kitty faces for extra meow-gic.

Ingredients

  • 6 just-ripe Lady Finger or small bananas, peeled

  • 200g dark chocolate melts

  • 2 tsp vegetable oil

  • Desiccated coconut, chopped walnuts, chopped pistachios, sesame seeds, or toasted muesli, to sprinkle

  • Peanut or almond butter, to drizzle (optional)

  • Mini M&M’s or chocolate chips (for eyes/nose)

  • Mini marshmallows or almonds, cut into triangles (for ears)

  • Licorice strips or pretzel sticks (for whiskers)

Method

Step 1 – Prep the bananas
Line a baking tray with baking paper. Insert an ice block stick into one end of each banana. Place bananas on the tray and freeze for 1 hour or until firm.

Step 2 – Melt the chocolate
Place chocolate melts in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water (bowl should not touch the water). Stir for 5 mins or until smooth. Mix in vegetable oil. Pour chocolate mixture into a tall heatproof glass.

Step 3 – Dip & decorate
Working quickly, dip half of one banana into the chocolate to coat, then return to the tray. Sprinkle with coconut, walnuts, pistachios, sesame seeds, or muesli. Repeat with remaining bananas. Return tray to the freezer for 10 mins to set.

Step 4 – Add cat-themed details (optional)
If desired, drizzle peanut or almond butter over bananas using a small plastic bag with a cut corner. Decorate with mini M&M’s or chocolate chips for eyes/nose, marshmallows or almonds for ears, and licorice or pretzel sticks for whiskers to create cute “paw-sicles.”

Step 5 – Freeze & serve
Freeze until chocolate and decorations are completely set. Enjoy your Frozen Banana Paw-sicles—a fun, healthy, and meow-gical treat! 🐾❄️
